My two Labs

It seems like a good time to update my About Ms. Sue Cascio page on my website. It has been around for awhile! I am so happy to still be teaching my favorite grade level for Science. Seventh graders are at such an important time in their  lives that I am so happy to be a part  of. I hope to take the students on a journey where we learn about the world around us.

I am especially excited this year with the changes to our school site and the "inheriting" of the old Minnie Cannon garden.  I hope to have great success with growing vegetable, herbs, flowers, and pollinator attracting plants. It will be a new adventure for sure!

As for me personally, I am married with two grown children. I have lived in Middletown for the past 22 years where I raised my family. I attended Sonoma State in the late nineties and graduated with a  BA in Liberal Studies, and a Biology minor. I have two teaching credentials- single subject in Biological Sciences and  a multiple subjects credential. I continued my professional development after becoming a teacher.  I am also especially proud of my  three year involvement with a Science grant through LCOE called the Lake County Science Collaborative. Here I engaged in intensive enrichment in Earth, Life and Physical at summer institutes over a period of three years. The program included lesson collaboration with teachers around the county, and leadership training.
